Random Call For Help

Hey folks, i have a very odd request.

Years ago, when Attack of the Clones came out (yes, i know, forever ago), Chex mix released some Star Wars boxes.

On the side of this box was a recipe for "Clone Crunch" chex mix. It involved corn syrup, sugar, peanut butter, chocolate and butterscotch chips.

and omg, was it GOOD. seriously, the first time i made it, my husband and i destroyed it within two days.

however, i have no clue what i did with the recipe.

and i cant find it anywhere online.

anybody have a clue what i am talking about or know where i could look? the official chex website doesnt have it, nor does any other recipe place ive looked online.

i was going to make it for a party tonight, but i cant remember if im missing ingrediants or what the combination ratios are...

The Recipe

1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups chunky peanut butter
10 ounces Chex cereal (about 9 cups, from a 12 ounce box)
1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips
3 cups chocolate chips
1 cup unsalted chopped peanuts

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

In saucepan, mix together corn syrup and sugar. Heat to almost boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add peanut butter. Stir until well blended.

Pour cereal into large bowl. Pour hot peanut butter mixture over cereal in bowl and gently toss until well mixed and cereal is coated. Spread in ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan, leveling top and pressing into corners. Sprinkle butterscotch and chocolate chips over top, distributing evenly. Place pan in warm oven, then turn oven off. Let pan sit in oven with door closed for about 10 minutes so chips melt. Remove from oven and spread melted chips over top of bars. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool completely, then cut into 20 (2 1/4 x 2 1/2-inch) rectangles. Then cut each rectangle in half to make 2 triangles.

Makes 40 bars.

I hope this is the reipe you wanted. It is so so good!!

I can't believe that I actually found it in my recipe box!!

Much love to you and your husband!!

Re: The Recipe

omg you rock my world, joejoe. do you know how long i spent online looking for this?!

the only difference between the mix and this one, is that this one is cut into bars, but this is the recipe!

hey, are you going South for Christmas at any pojnt? would love to see you.

Re: The Recipe

Well I am glad I could help you out!!

Not sure if I am going south or not. I had thought about it for New Years, but I always get eerie of driving during this time of year. I hate snow and ice on roads.

But who knows... I may get a surge of courage!!
