first off, she was having a bad day, so i wrote her a little bit of Petey..but my head is still focused on Firefly, so it was Petey in Space!
then, she made me this icon, and gave me a weird bunny..and now Petey has just gone through the Stargate.
its not my fault, i SWEAR.
Summery: Petey in space. Follows Heat Lamp (scroll down to read it) in the Firefly 'verse.
"The green one was growing bigger, and River was not going to be bowing down to it.
But Kaylee tended Him happily, never knowing the little one thirsted for more than water. Inara admired Him. Simon did not see the green well. Poor boy.
Jayne had good instincts, and avoided meeting with Him at all costs. Jayne knew, and River was glad. Jayne could protect her when He finished becoming Himself.
She and Jayne and Simon who did not see the green could flee before the cracks in Serenity became choked with blood and leaves and roots and life amidst death. Mal would be lost with his ship, and Zoe would not leave her Captain.
Kaylee would be His first. She was lush and ripe and Simon had always wanted to take a bite of her, so it was natural.
River knew, and watched, and hid behind walls without roots.

"What IS that, Carter?"
"It appears to be a plant, O'Neill."
"Thank you, Teal'c. I can see that it is a plant."
The four stood around, watching the odd little purple flower move independently of the wind. SG1 had encountered a lot of strange things, but never a plant that could actually crawl after them.
"Where did it come from?"
"It dropped out of my pack, sir. I have no idea how it got there, it wasn't in there when I packed it."
"Relax, Carter, I don't think you have been smuggling strange looking plants through the Stargate."
"Thank you, sir."
"I blame Daniel."
"Well, when odd things show up on either side, you are the one who packed them."
"How was I to know that chewing gum was considered a crime pushishable by death on P33-8797?!"
"Well, you should have."
"Oh, sir, I don't think I would touch it.."
"Are you well, O'Neill?"
"It BIT me!"
"It bit me, Carter!"
"Oh, this is fascinating, sir!"
"Fascinating? I'm BLEEDING, Captain!"
"Yes, sir, I know. And really, its only a scratch, don't be such a baby."
"How exactly, does a plant BITE someone, Carter?"
"With it's teeth?"
"Thank you, Daniel. Very helpful." He waved his bloody finger under Carter's nose. "What the hell is going on here?"
"Well, you see, sir, the plant sustains itself on the blood of other.."
"In plain English, Carter!"
"It thinks you are tasty, sir."
"Did you know anything about this, Daniel?"
"Well, Jack, the ancient Egyptians weren't much for plants."
